Woods Valley Children’s Skiing Programs Mountain Kids Ages 4-7 The Mountain Kids program is designed for children who have never sked before. Skills are acquired through the use of games which are then utilized on the hill. The program lasts for 4 weeks and concludes with the Great Cookie Race and a graduatiion ceremony on the fifth week. Mountain Explorers Ages 4 and up Explorers are skiers who have either graduation from the Mountain Kids progrAAam or have learned to ski Easy Acres (our mellow terrain) on their own with some degree of control. they also must be able to ride the lift alone or with a friend (parents may assist). Explorers are split into ability groups and excel from one group to the next at their own pace. Goals for this group are to produce young skiers that can handle more difficult terrain and snow conditions so they become family skiers. Runs simultaneously with our Mountain Kids program. Mountain Masters Ages 6-16 Mountain Masters are of all abilities from beginner to expert. This year you can join us in the program on either December 15 for orientation or join later if the holidays are too hectic. We’ll get you caught up to the group. The first few weeks are organizational in nature, giving coaches and skiers a chance to warm up to each other with instruction beginning shortly after the holidays. January is an instruction month with Februaty being a fun and games month where students apply their skills to try some fun racing, “trick” skiing, ballet and jumping. Recreational Racing Program Ages 6-12 Great fun for the first year racer. All races are held at Woods Valley with an emphasis on good natured competition and racing fundamentals. A great way to keep your skiers interested in developing their skills. |
